The BLM manages nearly 12 million acres of public lands for multiple use in Idaho, representing nearly one-fourth of the state's total land area. Through balanced management, we sustain the health, diversity and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. In fiscal year 2024, the diverse activities authorized on BLM Idaho-managed lands generated $1.5 billion in economic output across the state, supporting 12,000 jobs. In 2020, Idaho's public lands hosted 6.4 million recreation visits. BLM Idaho manages the largest livestock grazing program in the Bureau, generating more than $263 million, which a portion is returned to the U.S. Treasury, saving American tax dollars.
