BLM Postpones January 21, 2015 Oil and Gas Lease Sale

The New Mexico Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has postponed the January 21, 2015 Competitive Oil and Gas Lease Sale because additional time is required to evaluate public comments regarding potential drainage, tribal consultation, and environmental justice.The five lease parcels being considered for the January sale, totaling 2,802.56 acres in Sandoval County, will be deferred. Three of the five lease parcels (Parcels -01, -04, and -05) will be considered for the October 21, 2015 lease sale. The other two lease parcels (Parcels -02 and -03) will be deferred until the alternatives for the Mancos Shale/Gallup Formation Resource Management Plan Amendment/Environmental Impact Statement have been developed.Information related to BLM oil and gas lease sales, including public involvement opportunities, can be found at: http://www.blm.gov/nm/oilandgas.
