The AK Flyway Infographic

Each summer nearly 5 billion birds migrate to Alaska, traveling from around the world via highways in the sky, called “flyways.”  

Did you know the Arctic Terns can fly the equivalent of 3 roundtrips to the moon in their average 30-year lives? 

The AK Flyway infographic explains the reasons for large bird migrations to Alaska and highlights the journey of six migrants – including the Arctic Tern – that fly from six different continents each summer.
