Subject: Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with The Corps Network

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recently signed a MOU with The Corps Network. The Corps Network is the voice of 100 Service and Conservation Corps. Currently operating in 41 states and the District of Columbia, The Corp Network’s member Service and Conservation Corps supports more than 231,000 young men and women who contribute 113 million hours of service each year.

The purpose of the MOU is to foster cooperation between the BLM and The Corps Network to: (1) provide information to BLM Field staff to promote working internships for The Corps Network participants; (2) further training and experience for The Corps Network participants; and (3) further the understanding and appreciation of youth and young adults for our natural and cultural resources.

The MOU supports the long-standing efforts of the BLM to provide opportunities for public service, youth employment, and the participation of young adults in accomplishing conservation-related work. Projects include working with the Youth Conservation Corp, state and local Service and Conservation Corps, and the Student Conservation Association.
