Kremmling Field Office

The Kremmling Field Office is comprised of three regions: North Park, Middle Park and the Laramie River Valley. The landscape is varied between high mountain peaks and open sagebrush parks. Visitors regularly enjoy our vast array of recreation opportunities including rafting, hunting, and off-road use.

Field Office Spotlights:

Wolford Special Recreation Management Area (SRMA): Located just north of Kremmling, the public lands within the Wolford Mountain area offer a variety of recreational opportunities including hiking, wildlife viewing, picnicking, sightseeing, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, mountain biking, camping and off-highway vehicle activities.

Kremmling Cretaceous Ammonite LocalityThe BLM designated this 160 acre site as a Research Natural Area in 1983. The site was designated to provide for research, education, protection, and preservation for professional researchers to study the giant ammonites and other associate marine species as well as oceanic, climatic, and paleo-ecological changes.

Upper Colorado River RecreationThe Kremmling Field Office manages public lands along the Colorado River from the headwaters near Rocky Mountain National Park to State Bridge located in Eagle County. Excellent fishing and the river's Class II and III rapids make this a popular float for day or overnight trips. The Pumphouse Recreation Area and Radium Recreation Area have developed campsites available for reservation through recreation.gov. Check out the BLM's story map for the area.

North Sand Hills Special Recreation Management Area (SRMA): Located in North Central Colorado, the North Sand Hills SRMA is home to sand dunes that are frequently used by all-terrain vehicles (ATV) and off-highway vehicles (OHV) enthusiasts.
