Bishop Field Office

The Bishop Field Office cares for a unique vestige of wild California, emphasizing conservation, education and partnerships. Our mission is to sustain the health, diversity and productivity of the 750,000 acres of your BLM public lands we are entrusted to manage.

The Alabama Hills are a formation of rounded rocks and eroded hills set between the jagged peaks of the Sierra Nevada and the geologically complex Inyo Mountains. Visitors enjoy touring film sites, photography, rock climbing, exploring natural arches, and viewing the swaths of wildflowers that bloom every spring.
