Dalton Highway Vistor's Guide

A brochure cover for the Bureau of Land Management in Alaska's Dalton Highway Visitor's Guide. The cover photo is of a moose drinking out of a distant pond with an imposing mountain, Sukapak, in the background.

The Dalton Highway is a rough, largely unpaved road that begins 84 miles (134 km) north of Fairbanks and ends 414 miles (662 km) further north in Deadhorse, Alaska, the industrial camp at Prudhoe Bay. It provides a rare opportunity to traverse a remote, unpopulated part of Alaska to the very top of the continent. Traveling this farthest-north road is a great adventure, but it involves real risks and challenges.

This publication helps decide whether to make the journey, how to prepare, and how to enjoy your experience. It features practical information on available services, facilities, and points of interest, as well as fun facts about the area.
