Accessibility Description (ABA/ADA)
Click on the image above to view more photos of accessibility features at this site.
There are 2 hard-packed gravel parking areas. The east lot has 20 parking spaces and faces the 3 shooting bays; the north lot has 8 parking spaces and faces the toilet and picnic tables. These parking spots are all delineated by black and white striped parking stops. Each parking lot has 1 concrete accessible parking space. Both accessible spaces are striped and signed and have an access aisle.
A metal pole fence separates the parking lot from the concrete shooting platform, with openings for each of the 3 shooting bays. The 100-yard bay (next to the accessible parking space) has 4 fixed metal and concrete shooting tables that have an adjustable seat on one side and are open on the other side. The 200-yard bay has 3 shooting tables. The 3rd bay, for pistols and rifles, doesn’t have any shooting tables.
Red brass donation boxes and brown trash boxes, at each shooting bay, have easy-open doors and are at an appropriate height for visitors in wheelchairs. Covered information kiosks, near the 100-yard bay and the pistol bay, are at a height that can be viewed by visitors in wheelchairs but are starting to fade in the sun, making them not as easy to read.
Behind (west) of the shooting platform parking is a fenced-off area that has its own parking lot, with 1 designated accessible parking space. Inside the fenced area are 2 picnic shelters, each with 2 accessible picnic tables sitting on concrete pads and an accessible, gender-specific double-vault toilet. The concrete pads under the picnic shelters are flush with the ground, but the concrete pad for the toilets have a lip, which could make them difficult to access for visitors using mobility devices. The pathways between the picnic pavilions and toilets are hard-packed dirt.
The picnic area has 3 entrances. Visitors can take the concrete path from the accessible parking space in the larger parking lot by the 100-yard bay, or they can use one of two entrances from the smaller parking lot. One of these is next to the accessible parking space on the right side of the lot. The middle entrance, at the left side of the lot, could be challenging for visitors using mobility devices. The more accessible entrances have a concrete pad and are wide enough for wheelchairs or other mobility devices.
The site has no running water. Cell service is poor.
