Draft Resource Management Plan/Environmental Impact Statement Available for BLM Las Vegas and Pahrump Field Offices

Las Vegas – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is asking the public to review and comment on a draft Resource Management Plan (RMP) and a draft environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Las Vegas and Pahrump Field Offices.  The comment period opened with the publication of a notice of availability in the Federal Register today. Comments will be accepted during a 90-day period which closes January 7, 2015.  

Public meetings will be held beginning November 3, 2014 and will be announced at least 15 days in advance in local newspapers and on the BLM website. 

The RMP/EIS will address some of the following issues: Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC), lands and realty, utility corridors, solar energy, wind energy, travel management, recreation, lands with wilderness characteristics, minerals, wild and scenic rivers, and visual resource management.
