BLM Seeks Public Input on Proposal to Drill Two Oil and Gas Wells East of Bluff, Utah

MONTICELLO, Utah—The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Monticello Field Office is seeking input from the public on a proposal from EOG Resources, Inc. to drill two wells in the Blanding sub-basin oil and gas development area of San Juan County, Utah.  The proposed drill locations (Recapture 11-22H and Recapture 4-34H) are east of Highway 191 and the Bluff Bench area.

The BLM will use any comments received as it prepares an environmental assessment analyzing potential impacts associated with construction, drilling and completion, production, and reclamation operations of the two proposed applications for drilling (APDs). The public is encouraged to provide comments that identify issues or concerns that will influence the scope of the analysis or the development process for the environmental assessment.  Project information can be accessed using the BLM ePlanning website at:http://go.usa.gov/xkyDh A description of the proposed action and maps are available for review at the Monticello Field Office located:

Scoping comments will be accepted through November 11, 2016 and may be submitted electronically through the ePlanning website (http://go.usa.gov/xkyBj).  Navigate to the Documents section and simply click on the grey “Comment on Document” button and follow instructions for submitting comments. Please note that the most useful comments are those that identify issues relevant to the proposed action. Comments may also be submitted by mail to the address above.  Please reference the "Recapture APDs" when submitting written comments.
