Subject Guides

Cedar Mesa Valley of the GodsA subject guide is a compilation of research tools and resources focusing on a given subject. These resources are selected by our professional librarians and are intended to provide a starting point for research.

We constantly are adding resources to our existing subject guides and developing new subject guides that are topics of interest to BLM employees.

Please note that these guides are tailored to the needs of BLM employees and include materials that are only available to users on the BLM network.

The Bureau of Land Management manages and protects wild horses and burros on 26.9 million acres of public lands across 10 Western states as part of its mission to administer public lands for a variety of uses. The Wild Horse and Burro Program's goal is to manage healthy wild horses and burros on healthy public rangelands.

For decades, federal, state and private land managers have worked to conserve and restore the sagebrush ecosystem, with federal agencies managing habitat on the lands whose surface they administer and states managing and monitoring wildlife populations.
