Jeff Krauss
Deputy Director, Administration and Programs (Acting)
Prior to his role as acting Deputy Director for Administration and Programs, Jeff Krauss was the Assistant Director for Communications since 2022. He has been with the BLM more than 28 years and has also served as the Deputy Assistant Director for Communications, Division Chief for External and Intergovernmental Affairs, and Division Chief for Public Affairs and Digital Communications. Before becoming Division Chief for Public Affairs in 2007, he spent a year as a BLM Fellow on Capitol Hill. Krauss began his BLM career as a seasonal forestry technician in Missoula, Montana, and joined the BLM full time in 1996. He served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Jamaica and an AmeriCorps team leader in Charleston, South Carolina. Prior to the Federal Government, Krauss worked in sports communications for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games and NBC Sports covering the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Tennessee.
