BLM Wyoming Uses NEPA Register for NHPA Public Involvement

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Wyoming now has a way for the public to be involved in the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) process for BLM undertakings in Wyoming.BLM Wyoming will use the NEPA Register, which contains basic information about upcoming projects. If interested, contact the applicable field office to get additional information about a particular undertaking.This new process is a result of the recently signed State Protocol. This document addresses how the BLM Wyoming and the Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) implement Section 106 of the NHPA for BLM undertakings in the State of Wyoming. The document tiers from the BLM's National Programmatic Agreement. The State Protocol was signed by BLM Wyoming State Director Donald Simpson, the Governor of Wyoming, Matt Mead, and the Wyoming SHPO, Mary Hopkins.The 2006 and the 2014 State Protocols can be found on the BLM Wyoming website at: www.blm.gov/wy/.
