Public Input & Actions

BLM publishes proposed and final rules in the Federal Register and carries out environmental reviews in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. Announcing and explaining bureau plans and proposals and providing the public an opportunity to comment on proposed actions is an important part of informed management. We encourage citizens to make their voices heard on the issues that are important to them.

The Bureau of Land Management is preparing prescribed burn operations at the Blanca Wetlands between November, 2025 and mid-March, 2026, corresponding with favorable weather and fuel moisture conditions.

Uncompahgre Field Office plans for fall Transfer Road prescribed burn

A planned prescribed burn southwest of Olathe, CO along Transfer Road is scheduled between September and October, which aims to reduce hazardous fuels and lower the risk of extreme wildfire behavior.
