Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act (SNPLMA)
ROUND 20 PRELIMINARY RECOMMENDATION PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD
The Preliminary Recommendation is an interim product in the process of identifying and selecting projects for funding from the Special Account for the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act (Public Law 105-263), as amended, (SNPLMA). The list of projects was generated from a call for nominations for Round 20 of SNPLMA.
The eligible project categories for Round 20 are Parks, Trails, and Natural Areas; Capital Improvements; Conservation Initiatives; Environmentally Sensitive Land Acquisitions; Hazardous Fuels Reduction and Wildfire Prevention; Eastern Nevada Landscape Restoration Project (ENLRP); and Clark County Multi-Species Habitat Conservation Plan and Implementation (MSHCP). The subgroup for each project category, except the MSHCP category, reviewed, scored and ranked the nominations according to criteria approved by the SNPLMA Executive Committee for use during the round. The MSHCP category ranking process is managed by Clark County according to a process outlined in the SNPLMA Implementation Agreement.
45-DAY PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD
The Preliminary Recommendation includes an Appendix table with each category and the proposed nominations within, including a proposed budget as “Recommended” or “Not Recommended.” The projects within each category are listed in priority order. The Press Release, Preliminary Recommendation, and electronic binders of the full nominations in each category, and consolidated ranking criteria for all categories can be accessed in PDF format using the links below.
The purpose of releasing the Preliminary Recommendation and project lists is to obtain input from all interested parties. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is accepting written comments on these nominations from Monday April 22 until close of business (4:30 PM Pacific Time) on Wednesday June 5, 2024.
