The Bureau of Land Management will offer the public an opportunity to adopt or purchase a wild horse or burro Sept. 8-15 through an Online Corral auction, with pick up available in AZ, CA, ID, NE, NV, OK, UT and WY.
The Bureau of Land Management's Northern California District Resource Advisory Council will hold a virtual meeting via Microsoft Teams, Thursday, Sept. 18, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Members of the public are welcome, and can register to participate. The council will hear public comments at 11:00 a.m. A copy of the agenda is available online.
RAC members will hear discussions on Ólak Ólohtem-Lost Coast Redwoods management considerations, review and consider approval of Forest Service business plans for the Shasta-Trinity National Forest fee proposal and Lassen National Forest, receive updates on wild horse management including the Carter Reservoir Environmental Assessment and adoption suggestions, and hear state and district reports. Council members will also receive updates from BLM leadership.
