The BLM will host a wild horse and burro placement event, offering a limited number of excess animals gathered from western rangelands, September 5, 2025, at the Ewing Wild Horse and Burro Off-Range Corral in Ewing, IL.

The BLM is proud to partner with Mustang Champions for the second annual Mustang Classic, a national training competition taking place Sept. 4-6 at the Kentucky Horse Park, Rolex Stadium in Lexington.

Teens and Oregon Mustangs is a 100-day training competition for wild horses and burros. At the end of the competition, there is a live auction event where you can adopt one of our trained animals.

The Bureau of Land Management invites the public to a wild horse adoption event at the Eastern Idaho State Fair, 97 Park St., in Blackfoot on Aug. 30 at 11:30 a.m. Since June, youths representing 4-H clubs from Oneida to Teton counties have gentled and trained their yearling mustangs to lead, load in a horse trailer, pick up their feet, and a variety of other skills.

The Bureau of Land Management has postponed the wild horse and burro adoption event scheduled for Aug. 29-30 in Albuquerque, N.M.
