Public Input & Actions

BLM publishes proposed and final rules in the Federal Register and carries out environmental reviews in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. Announcing and explaining bureau plans and proposals and providing the public an opportunity to comment on proposed actions is an important part of informed management. We encourage citizens to make their voices heard on the issues that are important to them.

BLM seeks public comment on the Lucky Star transmission line in Carbon and Albany counties. The 230-kV line would cross ~5 miles of BLM land and ~20 miles of mixed-ownership land in the West-Wide Energy Corridor.

BLM seeks input for proposed uranium exploration in Fremont County

The BLM is seeking public input on a proposal for exploration drilling in Fremont County. If approved, Rush Uranium Wyoming, LLC could drill up to 232 holes looking for uranium approximately 15 mi northeast of Shoshoni.

BLM seeks input on proposed southwest Wyoming carbon sequestration project

The BLM is seeking a 15-day public comment on the environmental assessment for the proposed Sweetwater Carbon Storage Hub CO2 sequestration project. The assessment analyzes the effects of issuing a right-of-way to Pond Field, LLC to permanently store CO2 in federal pore space across 44,350 acres in Uinta, Sweetwater, and Lincoln counties.
