Public Asked to Help with Weiser Knoll Fire Investigation
LANDER, Wyo. — The Bureau of Land Management is seeking information from the public to assist with the ongoing investigation into the cause of the Weiser Knoll Fire.
The Weiser Knoll Fire started Aug. 9 on public lands adjacent to Wyoming Highway 28, approximately 10 miles southeast of Lander. The fire burned nearly 16,000 acres in Fremont County.
Anyone who may have information related to the cause of the Weiser Knoll Fire is asked to contact the BLM Lander Field Office at 307-332-8400.
Information from the public can be valuable in helping investigators determine how wildfires start. Understanding wildfire causes can also help land managers identify prevention opportunities and better protect public lands and surrounding communities from future fires.
