Monument Management
On July 13, 2026, President Trump issued a Presidential Proclamation modifying the boundaries for the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The monument, located in southern Utah, is made up of 181,541 acres of public lands administered by the BLM.
Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument was established by presidential proclamation on Sept. 18, 1996, to protect an array of historic and scientific objects. During this time, there has only been a handful of management plans.
