Public Input & Actions

BLM publishes proposed and final rules in the Federal Register and carries out environmental reviews in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. Announcing and explaining bureau plans and proposals and providing the public an opportunity to comment on proposed actions is an important part of informed management. We encourage citizens to make their voices heard on the issues that are important to them.

BLM Prepares Lincoln and Sublette County Campgrounds for Winter

Visitors can continue enjoying several Bureau of Land Management campgrounds this fall as the Kemmerer and Pinedale field offices prepare recreation sites for colder weather. Beginning Sept. 29, the BLM will winterize water systems at Fontenelle Creek, Scab Creek and Warren Bridge campgrounds.

Cow Camp Fire Burning Southeast of Ten Sleep

Wildland firefighters, in coordination with local cooperators, are responding to the Cow Camp Fire, reported September 3, 2026, southeast of Ten Sleep in Washakie County. The fire is estimated at approximately 250 acres and is 0% contained. The cause is unknown.

Weiser Knoll Fire Recovery Spurs Temporary Closure of BLM Roads and Trails

Effective immediately, all roads and trails on about 9,100 acres of BLM managed lands within the Weiser Knoll fire perimeter in Fremont County are temporarily closed to all motorized travel.
