Volunteers are invited to perform trailhead maintenance, install trail erosion control and interpretive signs, repair fencing, pull weeds and other trail maintenance at the Cowiche Canyon Uplands Trailhead in Yakima.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Socorro Field Office is celebrating National Public Lands Day by rehabbing a closed logging road which was utilized to provide utility task vehicle access to construct the Upper Log Canyon Wildlife Water in June 2024.
The Bureau of Land Management, in partnership with the Mono Arts Council (MAC), announces a community engagement event as part of its Artist in Residence Program. On Saturday, Sept. 28, from 3-6 p.m., photographer Ryan Contreras will host a special workshop titled, “Advanced Cyanotypes” at 437 Old Mammoth Road, Suite 180, Mammoth Lakes, CA.
Participants will work with Bureau of Land Management staff to install signs welcoming visitors to the Basin and Range National Monument. Signs will be erected on the Monument’s northern, western and southern boundaries.
The Bureau of Land Management is partnering with the Fernley Rotary Club, Oregon California Trails Association, Desert Pigs, and Olcese Waste Services to host a Fernley Swales Cleanup for National Public Lands Day 2024.
The project will be a day of cleaning and upgrading facilities within the City of Main Street, on public lands along the Susan River and Bizz Johnson Trail and at the Historic Railroad Depot.
