BLM Wyoming is planning to hold a wild horse adoption event at the Dakota Thurston County Fairgrounds, May 30-31, 2025. The event will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with up to 32 wild horses present during the event.

The BLM will host a wild horse and burro placement event, offering a limited number of excess animals gathered from western rangelands, May 29-31, 2025, at the Morrisville Western Training Arena in Morrisville, New York.

The Bureau of Land Management’s Kemmerer Field Office is excited to host the Showdown at the Badlands, a high-adrenaline motorcycle event that is part of the Rockwell Pro Hillclimb Series. The event will take place Saturday and Sunday May 24-25, 2025, at the Bridger Off-Highway Vehicle Area, also known as the Badlands, located southeast of Mountain View, Wyoming, off Highway 414.

The Black Rock Field Office and partner organizations Friends of Black Rock-High Rock, Friends of Nevada Wilderness, and Stewards of the Black Rock Desert are hosting the Black Rock Rendezvous in the Black Rock Desert May 23-26, 2025.

COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Boating season on Lake Coeur d’Alene is on the horizon and on May 22, 2025, the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) popular Blackwell Island Recreation Site will reopen for the season.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Winnemucca District will be conducting a wildland fire training exercise in the Water Canyon Recreation Area, May 20 and 21.

Painter Heejin Kwak, an artist-in-residence at the Bureau of Land Management King Range National Conservation Area, will display works inspired by the beauty of California’s Lost Coast, in a showing Saturday, May 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Shelter Cove Arts and Recreation Foundation Gallery, 1060 Upper Pacific, Shelter Cove.

Preview begins at 8 a.m. with the live auction starting at 9 a.m.; after auction, animals will be available first come, first served until 12 p.m. Up to 30 wild horses will be available.

Just in time for Memorial Day adventures, the Bureau of Land Management’s Lakeview District is opening the Gerber and Topsy campgrounds for the season.

Opportunities to explore stunning scenery and learn about ecology and history await outdoor enthusiasts, as the Bureau of Land Management offers events through the spring and summer at the Headwaters Forest Reserve near Eureka.
