High Grade Trail

  • Activities: Hiking and Biking

  • Trail Distance: 0.42 miles (one way) single-track

  • Trail Difficulty: Easy

Trail Description:

The High Grade Trail allows cyclists to connect the White Reef Trail and/or Leeds Reef Trail to the Prospector Trail. This is the preferred route for cyclists, bypassing the Adams Trail which has limited visibility while crossing the riparian area of Quail Creek, and is the preferred route for horses and hikers.

From the White Reef Trailhead, head southwest along the access road for .25 miles; passing the entrance tunnel to the Red Cliffs Recreation Area and crossing the single-lane bridge. The High Grade Trail is located on the south side of the road.  After 0.42 miles cyclists can then turn left onto the Prospector Trail.

  • From the White Reef or Leeds Reef trails, cyclists should return to the White Reef Trailhead and then follow the description above to access the Prospector Trail via the High Grade Trail.
  • From the Prospector Trail, cyclists may turn right onto the High Grade Trail, or cross the road and then turn left onto the Quail Creek Trail
