Salem, Ore. – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) employees are currently engaged in pre-season maintenance projects and attaining seasonal rangers at Sharps Creek and Yellowbottom Campgrounds. Sharps Creek Campground is anticipated to open by June 30th, and Yellowbottom Campground by July 28th. Sharps Creek is located southeast of Cottage Grove. Day use at the Yellowbottom recreation site, located in the Quartzville Recreation Corridor northeast of Sweet Home, is open to the public.

“We know visitors enjoy these sites as part of their summer plans, and appreciate their understanding as we diligently work towards opening them,” said Jose Linares, District Manager, Northwest Oregon District. The Bureau of Land Management invites families, youth and visitors to learn how public lands connect them to America’s natural and cultural heritage.
