The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Northwest Oregon District, Upper Willamette Field Office, will hold a public information meeting about the Thurston Hills Project on Friday August 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Springfield City Hall, Library Meeting Room, located in Springfield, OR. This project is a great example of the BLM’s commitment to serving the American family by being good neighbors, supporting traditional land uses such as logging, and providing access to hunting, fishing, and other recreational opportunities.

The Thurston Hills Non-Motorized Trails and Forest Management Project includes timber harvest and new non-motorized trail development on BLM land approximately 5 miles east-southeast of downtown Springfield. The BLM has issued an Environmental Assessment and made decisions about project implementation. The meeting will be an open house format where attendees can learn more about the chosen actions, view project maps, and learn more about the BLM’s timber and recreation programs in Northwest Oregon.

Project information is available for viewing on the BLM’s ePlanning webpage.
