Salem, Ore. – Campgrounds across the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Northwest Oregon District are ready to welcome visitors this Memorial Day Weekend and throughout the duration of the summer season. This includes popular destinations such as the Fishermen’s Bend, Clay Creek and Whittaker Creek Campgrounds. Limited services and amenities may be available at some sites though. The availability of these sites serves as a great example of the BLM’s commitment to serving the American family by being good neighbors, and providing access to hunting, fishing, and other recreational opportunities.

The water system at Yellowbottom Campground was vandalized over the winter, and may not be operational for several more weeks. Vegetation maintenance is still needed at several campgrounds including Yellowbottom and Clay Creek Campgrounds.

Please remember to care for your public lands by helping to reduce trash and litter. Trash receptacles are not present at all sites, or may be full following high use; please practice pack-it-in, pack-it-out. The District provides year-round opportunities for volunteers. Anyone interested in serving as a campground host or helping with the care and maintenance of campgrounds and other recreation sites should contact the District Volunteer Coordinator at (503) 375-5646.
