Baker City, Ore. — The Bureau of Land Management’s National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center is adjusting admission fees for the first time in more than a decade and adding one full month of free admission to its calendar.

Effective Tuesday, Oct. 1, regular two-day summer passes will cost $8 for adults and $6 for seniors; winter passes will cost $5 for adults and $4 for seniors. All federal interagency America the Beautiful passes are good for free admission. Commercial group rates will increase from $5 to $6 per person.

Admission for children age 15 and under will remain free, allowing families and schools to affordably connect to public lands and America’s natural and cultural heritage.

In addition to nine designated fee-free days throughout the year, the center will also offer free admission to all visitors the entire month of December, with a full schedule of living history and hands-on activities planned. View the schedule online at https://on.doi.gov/2m0CXJW.

These changes represent the first modification of entry fees since 2008. Fee revenue comprises a small but important part of the center’s overall budget. A complete copy of the business plan for the fee changes can be found at https://www.blm.gov/programs/recreation/permits-and-fees/business-plans.
