BLM to re-open lands and recreation sites along West Fork Evans Creek

MEDFORD, OR. - The BLM roads, lands and recreation sites along the West Fork of Evans Creek that were previously closed due to the Grave Creek Fire and Pleasant Creek Fire within the Garner Complex are now re-opened to the public due to lessened fire activity in the area. The BLM has been working closely with the fire team managing these fires, and had determined that it is currently safe for the public to use the area. The public is advised to use extreme caution while traveling and recreating on public lands and to follow the current public use restrictions. Note that fire danger is EXTREME, and No campfires are allowed at any time in any location. Other restrictions include, but are not limited to: no fireworks, smoke only in enclosed vehicles on improved roads, no motorized vehicles off of improved roads, and you must carry one shovel and one gallon of water or one 2½ pound or larger fire extinguisher when traveling improved roads other than state highways, county roads and driveways.
