BLM Hosts Jarvie Fest 2017

DUTCH JOHN, Utah — Join the Bureau of Land Management at the John Jarvie Historic Ranch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 14 to celebrate the annual Jarvie Fest.
“We invite all of our neighbors to come and have fun at Jarvie Fest,” said Vernal Field Office Manager Ester McCullough. “The BLM is privileged to connect all Americans to the natural resources and rich cultural heritage in this area.”
Jarvie's general store was the heartbeat of the Browns Park community. His dugout often served as a hiding place for some of the West's most notorious outlaws, harboring infamous criminals such as Butch Cassidy. Located on the banks of the Green River, the scenic property includes Jarvie's log home, which served as a post office where he served as the postmaster, and a large, stone building that accommodated his diverse businesses.
This free event will feature live music, wagon rides, leather working, flint-knapping, rope-and-candle making, as well as old time photography.
