SOCORRO, N.M. – Beginning October 1, 2025, the Bureau of Land Management will increase fees at Datil Well Campground in Catron County. The fee adjustments aim to address the costs associated with maintaining and improving facilities and infrastructure necessary to support a growing number of visitors.

Campsites without electric will cost $20 per night; campsites with electric will cost $30 per night; and group sites will continue to cost $15 for day use and $30 for overnight camping. America the Beautiful Interagency Senior Pass or Access Pass holders will receive a 50% discount on campsite fees for one site per visit.

The Southern New Mexico Resource Advisory Council approved the fee changes after careful consideration at a meeting in January 2025. Find the full business plan on the BLM’s recreation business plans website.

The Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 authorizes the BLM to regulate the use of public lands and the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act authorizes the BLM to collect recreational fees when sites and areas meet specific criteria.
