C Overlook
Iron Hills Trail System: 30 miles
Recommended uses: mountain biking, hiking, and trail running
Difficulty: beginner, intermediate and advanced
The "C" Overlook is a historically significant trailhead and scenic overlook located on the east side of Cedar City, Utah. This trailhead is your gateway for trails for mountain biking, hiking and trail running.
Currently there are 30 miles of built trail with another 15 miles of trail planned. Highlands, Green Hollow, Boulder Dash, Lava Flow, Black Opps, Bone Yard and Iron Giant trails are optimized as downhill flow trails. "C" Overlook is a perfect spot to shuttle the "C" Trail, Highlands, Green Hollow, Boulder Dash, Lava Flow and Iron Giant.
The "C" Overlook offers an expanse view of Cedar City and the surrounding mountains, desert, and fields. The viewing area is directly above the giant white "C" on the Mountainside that can be seen from anywhere in the valley. The site includes gravel parking, kiosks, and benches.
Winter use: The "C" Overlook is typically inaccessible by vehicle from December through the end of April. During the cold season, avoid trail use when trails are muddy. Use trails when they are frozen.

Thanks to funding from the Great American Outdoors Act, this site was improved in 2023 to enhance accessibility.
The parking lot, consisting of hard-packed dirt, has 1 paved parking spot. From that parking spot a ramp with a slope of less than 5 percent leads down to the overlook, which is therefore situated well away from the road.
The site offers 1 accessible vault toilet. Visitors can park next to this toilet. There is no potable water at the site.
The overlook is 75 feet long. It includes 3 interpretive signs positioned at a height that is appropriate for people who use wheelchairs. The site does not currently have wheelchair-accessible picnic tables or shade structures, but there is bench seating along the overlook.
Starting out as a scenic overlook only, the site is now a popular point of access for an extensive trail system. The trail leading down from the overlook is one of the most challenging trails in the system and may be a hindrance for people with mobility impairments, so to access this trail a rider would need to be highly skilled and use an adaptive mountain bike.
