Accessibility Description (ABA/ADA)
There is no cell phone reception at this site.
The paved parking lot has 12 spaces, 2 of which are designated as accessible with access aisles for vans. A large dumpster with a lift-up lid sits at the southern edge of the parking lot, at the entrance.
A double vault toilet sits on a concrete pad near the northeast corner of the parking lot. There may be a lip between the asphalt and the concrete pad.
A partially shaded kiosk with site and safety information and a pay station are on grass just to south of the toilet. Farther south, next to one of the accessible parking spaces, there is a water spigot sitting in grass which is operated with an easy-to-use, self-closing paddle valve.
The Aholul Group Campground is one large site where many tent sites can be set up. From the north and south sides of the accessible paved parking lot, grass and dirt pathways lead into the site, which has uneven surfaces of natural ground and grass. Both pathways lead to several picnic tables shaded by trees and fire rings with grill attachments. Some of the tables have extended ends to accommodate wheelchair users.
Next to the tables reached from the northern path, a small bench without arms, a large pedestal grill with multiple cooking grates, and a fire ring with a grill attachment sit on a flat, compacted dirt surface. The grill sits on a thick slab of concrete, which, in addition to the height, might be challenging for people in wheelchairs to use.
