Public Input & Actions

BLM publishes proposed and final rules in the Federal Register and carries out environmental reviews in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. Announcing and explaining bureau plans and proposals and providing the public an opportunity to comment on proposed actions is an important part of informed management. We encourage citizens to make their voices heard on the issues that are important to them.

BLM rescinds emergency fire closure of Marion Creek Falls Trail north of Coldfoot, Alaska

The BLM Central Yukon Field Office rescinded the fire closure order that temporarily closed the Marion Creek Falls Trail at the Marion Creek Campground, mile 180 of the Dalton Highway.

BLM announces emergency fire closure of Lower Birch Creek Wayside near Central, Alaska

BLM is closing the Lower Birch Creek Wayside near mile 140 of the Steese Highway. The wayside closure will restrict river access and parking for Birch Creek Wild and Scenic River.

To protect the public and provide for firefighter safety in light of ongoing wildland fire activity associated with the Marion fire (#295), the BLM is closing the Marion Creek Falls Trail at the Marion Creek Campground.

BLM issues emergency closure of southwestern portion of the White Mountains National Recreation Area due to wildland fire activity

Due to ongoing wildland fire activity, the BLM is closing the southwestern portion of the White Mountains National Recreation Area surrounding the Wickersham Dome Trailhead at mile 28 Elliott Highway, north of Fairbanks.
