The BLM has issued a decision record and finding of no significant impact for a multi-year wild horse gather beginning July 15, 2025.

The BLM hereby provides constructive notice that it will issue an appealable decision approving conveyance of the surface and subsurface estates in certain lands to NANA Regional Corporation, Inc.

A flock of nearly 1,100 sheep have arrived at the Bureau of Land Management’s Cronan Ranch, and a flock of nearly 800 sheep will soon arrive at Magnolia Ranch, to graze invasive weeds and reduce wildfire threat. Sheep herders will manage the flocks, moving them across the grassy slopes and meadows with assistance from herding dogs and livestock protection dogs. The sheep will be grazing behind temporary fencing to allow the sheep herder to keep the sheep in an area long enough to have the vegetation uniformly grazed and/or trampled down.

The Bureau of Land Management has approved the Greasewood Creek bentonite mine near Medicine Bow in Albany County. Wyoming bentonite comprises as much as 70 percent of the world's known supply and is used for industrial and consumer products including kitty litter, drilling mud, binder in foundry molds, and iron ore pelletizing.

MARINA, Calif. – The Bureau of Land Management is issuing seasonal fire restrictions for public lands managed by the Central Coast Field Office effective Monday, June 2, due to dry conditions and wildland fire danger. These seasonal restrictions are in addition to the year-round statewide fire prevention order, and the permanent fire restrictions in place at the Fort Ord National Monument and Cotoni-Coast Dairies. This seasonal fire order will remain in effect until further notice.

The plats of survey of lands described in this notice are scheduled to be officially filed in the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Alaska State Office, Anchorage, Alaska.

The Bureau of Land Management today issued the final analysis for the proposed Greenlink North transmission project, which would span approximately 235 miles across White Pine, Eureka, Lander, Churchill, and Lyon counties.

Annual campfire restrictions go into effect June 1 on certain BLM-administered lands in central Oregon. Campfires will be prohibited along portions of the Crooked, Deschutes, John Day, and White Rivers.

The BLM will temporarily close public land between Bend and Redmond until a date to be determined due to growing public health, safety, and environmental concerns caused by unauthorized long-term non-recreational camping.
