Public Input & Actions

BLM publishes proposed and final rules in the Federal Register and carries out environmental reviews in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. Announcing and explaining bureau plans and proposals and providing the public an opportunity to comment on proposed actions is an important part of informed management. We encourage citizens to make their voices heard on the issues that are important to them.

The Bureau of Land Management is issuing seasonal fire restrictions effective Friday, June 6, due to dry conditions and wildland fire danger. These seasonal restrictions are in addition to the year-round, statewide fire prevention order. The seasonal fire order will remain in effect until further notice.

The Bureau of Land Management is issuing seasonal fire restrictions effective Friday, June 6, due to dry conditions and wildland fire danger. These seasonal restrictions are in addition to the year-round, statewide fire prevention order. The seasonal fire order will remain in effect until further notice. The BLM-managed public lands affected by these fire restrictions are in the Mother Lode Field Office for Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Mariposa, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Stanislaus, Tuolumne, and Yuba counties.

The BLM is issuing a temporary road closure in Lapon Canyon, located in Mineral County, Nevada. The portion of the Lapon Canyon road that will be closed is the last 1.5 miles of the upper access to Lapon Canyon.

BLM seeks initial input on proposed Redonda solar project in Riverside County

The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comment on the proposed Redonda solar project on approximately 887 acres of public lands in Riverside County. If approved, the project could produce and store up to 250 megawatts of utility-scale energy.

BLM to increase fees at Roswell Field Office recreation sites

The BLM will increase fees starting July 1 at Rob Jaggers Campground and Valley of Fires Recreation Area in Lincoln County, and the Haystack Mountain and Mescalero Sands North Dune off-highway vehicle areas near Roswell.

BLM plans Bizz Johnson Trail improvements

The Bureau of Land Management is improving public facilities and access along the Bizz Johnson National Recreation Trail to enhance visitor safety and experience. The work is planned on public lands west of Susanville in Lassen County and includes installing new vault toilets, removing a rockslide, and upgrading parking areas. Trail users should expect short-term closures or limited access while construction is underway.

BLM seeks public input on the herd management area plans for Antelope and Triple B complexes. The comment period closes on June 29, 2025.
