Public Input & Actions

BLM publishes proposed and final rules in the Federal Register and carries out environmental reviews in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. Announcing and explaining bureau plans and proposals and providing the public an opportunity to comment on proposed actions is an important part of informed management. We encourage citizens to make their voices heard on the issues that are important to them.

BLM Announces September 2026 Sale of Oil and Gas Leases in Ohio

The Bureau of Land Management today announced an oil and gas lease sale scheduled for September 15, 2026, to offer 41 oil and gas parcels totaling 2,840 acres in the Wayne National Forest, located in southeastern Ohio.

BLM Seeks Initial Input for March 2027 Sale of Oil and Gas Leases in Alabama, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, and Ohio

The Bureau of Land Management today opened a 30-day public scoping period to receive public input on 15 oil and gas parcels totaling approximately 2,830 acres that may be included in a March 2027 lease sale in Alabama, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, and Ohio. The scoping period ends July 22, 2026.
