Ranger Kelly Cole and Senior Special Agent Robert Cowan were recognized yesterday at an award ceremony in Washington, D.C., as part of the bureau’s observance of National Police Week.

On April 11, 2019, Martin Thornley Elze, 52, of Anchorage, was sentenced to serve 33 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release for the 2018 theft of a 100-pound mammoth tusk from Alaska’s Campbell Creek Science Center. Elze was also ordered to pay $8,385.82 in restitution to the science center.
On March 28, BLM-California Special Agent Brad Kent was recognized for his extraordinary commitment and dedication at the second annual Excellence in the Pursuit of Justice Award Ceremony held in San Diego.
