Trails Center trek explores the Bozeman Trail

CASPER, Wyo. – Join the Bureau of Land Management to discover the trail that led to riches, but found itself shrouded in turmoil. On Saturday, Sept. 16, the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center hosts the Pioneer Trail Trek program, “Encounters along the Bozeman Trail.”
This trail trek will begin at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center at 8 a.m. and end in the late afternoon. Participation is free of charge.
Participants will follow parts of the Bozeman Trail, with scheduled stops at specific sites along the way that will help share the story of the Bozeman Trail. The trail trek will culminate with a visit to Fort Phil Kearny, a major fort along the trail.
For this program, please wear appropriate clothing, bring sack lunches, drinks and sunscreen, and be prepared for inclement weather as the day unfolds. Transportation is not provided to sites and carpooling is encouraged.
