Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area Seeking Input on Implementation Strategy Development

Las Vegas – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Red Rock/Sloan Field Office is seeking public input regarding future developments in Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area. The public meeting will be held on December 4th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Levi Strauss & Co. located at 501 Executive Airport Drive, Henderson, NV 89052.
This is an interactive programming event. Following the 6:15 p.m. presentation, participants will be encouraged to share their thoughts regarding timing of proposed developments so that impacts on current funding can be illustrated. Written comment forms will be available at the meeting.
The implementation strategy presentation will also be posted on the BLM website at http://blm.gov/s3ld beginning December 5, 2014. Comments may also be submitted by visiting http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/1906892/SloanNCA through December 31, 2014.
All future developments will aid in the protection and conservation of resources and may include: a contact station at the entrance of Petroglyph Canyon; improved parking at identified trailheads; additional trail construction/conversion; additional interpretative exhibits and a number of restoration activities.
