Public invited to comment on current Greater Sage-Grouse conservation plans

BILLINGS, Mont.) – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) put plans in place two years ago to protect sagebrush habitat in order to keep the Greater Sage-Grouse from being placed on the Endangered Species List.
Now that those plans are being implemented, the BLM is asking the public for input on how those efforts are working and whether they can be improved.
The Montana/Dakotas State Office of the BLM is hosting one of several public scoping meetings to be held across the west, at which the public will be given an opportunity to weigh in with their comments, concerns, and recommendations about sage grouse conservation efforts.
Regional residents are invited to come to Billings on Wednesday, November 8, for a meeting to be held from 4-8 p.m. at the BLM offices at 5001 Southgate Drive in Billings. After a brief presentation, participants will have a chance to ask questions and share their thoughts with BLM staff members.
Individuals and organizations may also submit their comments by email by November 27, 2017 to blm_
