LAS CRUCES, NM - David Turning, a Las Cruces resident, is the winner of the “2020 Picture That Pass” photo contest sponsored by the Bureau of Land Management Las Cruces District Office.  Turning’s winning photo captured the iconic Organ Mountains and its desert flora during an active lightning storm.  Out of 80 entries, Turning’s photo will be used on the annual BLM Recreation Pass for 2020, giving Turning credit for his photographic talent.

His winning entry will also entitle him to a free annual BLM Recreation Pass, which is valued at $30 and can be used to visit any of the BLM Las Cruces District fee sites in southern New Mexico.  These sites include Dripping Springs Natural Area, Aguirre Spring Recreation Area and Campground, Lake Valley Historical Site and the Three Rivers Petroglyph Site and Campground.

The new annual pass with Turning’s photograph will be on sale in January 2020 at the BLM Las Cruces District Office located at 1800 Marquess Street in Las Cruces.  The BLM accepts cash and credit cards for all annual pass purchases.  The public can contact Sylvia Turman @ 575-525-4414 for more information on the photo contest and the annual passes.
