The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will offer five parcels of land about six miles east of Payette, Idaho, in a competitive oil and gas lease sale on May 28. Five parcels totaling 6,474.62 acres will be offered. Minimum bid for the leasing rights is $2 per acre. The sale will begin at 9 a.m. at BLM Idaho State Office, 1387 S. Vinnell Way, in Boise. The registration table will open at 7:45 a.m. “Two stipulations will be in effect for the parcels, said Tate Fischer, field manager for the Four Rivers Field Office. “No surface occupancy and no subsurface occupancy will be permitted until the Four Rivers Resource Management Plan is completed, which is scheduled for 2016. The lease sale is being held to prevent federally owned oil and gas from being drained without compensation to the United States in the form of royalties.
