Successful bidders are required to pay 20 percent of the bid by 3:30 p.m. today. The remainder of the bid is due within 180 days on/before February 25, 2020.

In accordance with the joint selection process, unsold parcels must be re-nominated for consideration at future land sales by the local government.

In accordance with the SNPLMA, funds generated from the sale of public land may be used for specific purposes including parks, trails, and natural areas; capital improvements, conservation initiatives; and for the purchase of environmentally sensitive lands. Additionally, 10 percent of the funds will go to the Southern Nevada Water Authority, and five percent will go to the Nevada State General Education Fund.

"These land sales that support SNPLMA and pay for the expansion of parks, trails, natural recreation areas and conservation align the BLM and the City of North Las Vegas in our shared goal of improving quality of life in Southern Nevada, said John J. Lee, Mayor of the City of North Las Vegas. “Nearly 50 percent of the land available in the Las Vegas Valley is in the City of North Las Vegas, and transforming this unused dirt into real estate guarantees continued economic diversification for Southern Nevada."

Secretary’s Order 3373 (SO 3373), titled “Evaluating Public Access in BLM Land Disposals and Exchanges,” was one of the very first Secretary’s Orders Secretary Bernhardt signed. This sale followed the guidelines of SO 3373, which directs BLM to adequately weigh public access for outdoor recreation – including hunting and fishing – when determining the appropriateness of the disposal or exchange of public lands. Identifying lands as available for disposal or exchange is required under federal law.
