Celebrate National Public Lands Day with the BLM Lander Field Office

The Bureau of Land Management invites you to show pride for your public lands on Saturday, August 27, by cleaning up the Dubois Badlands Wilderness Study Area in celebration of National Public Lands Day.
Volunteers are needed to clean up illegally dumped trash in the area. Participants from Lander can meet in the BLM Lander Field Office parking lot at 7 a.m. to carpool to Dubois. Otherwise, meet in Dubois at 8:30 a.m. at Dubois Headwaters Park Area in front of the Scout Circle.
All ages are welcome. Bring gloves and water. A bar-b-que will follow the cleanup and all volunteers will receive a National Public Lands Day t-shirt.
The goal of National Public Lands Day is to connect people to public lands in their community, inspire environmental stewardship and encourage use of public lands for education, recreation, and general health.
“Events like this are valuable and I hope volunteers join us and take this day to enjoy they great outdoors and celebrate the lands that give us so much,” said BLM Outdoor Recreation Technician Michael Coyne.
