CHEYENNE, Wyo. - In keeping with the Department’s goal of strengthening America’s energy independence, the Bureau of Land Management will offer 170 parcels totaling 170,509.68 acres in the High Plains District and Wind River / Bighorn Basin District at its March 2018 quarterly oil and gas lease sale. The BLM will hold the lease sale online via www.energynet.com.

The sale parcels will open and close over two days.  Bidding starts on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at 7:30 a.m. Mountain Standard Time.  All bidding will conclude on Thursday, March 22, 2018.

The lease sale’s environmental assessments, lists and maps of the parcels, and the attached stipulations are online at https://go.usa.gov/xn9Cw.

The state of Wyoming receives 50 percent of the proceeds of each lease sale. In Fiscal Year 2016, Wyoming received approximately $664,312,371 from royalties, rentals and bonus bid payments for all federal minerals, including oil and gas.

Online oil and gas lease sales streamline the bidding process and allow the BLM to serve the public better and faster. These lease sales strengthen domestic energy production and contribute to the country’s energy independence.
