The BLM will close the South Canyon recreation site this week to begin construction on a boat ramp extension. The site will reopen in time for the spring fishing season. Users floating South Canyon before the launch reopens can take out downstream at Tibbett’s Landing (accessible only on eastbound I-70) near New Castle.

The BLM is extending the concrete ramp across the sandy area and steep slope to make access up and down the ramp easier.
