CASPER, Wyo. – The Bureau of Land Management Casper Field Office will temporarily close the Sand Hills area northeast of Torrington on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to clean up multiple illegal trash dumping sites located on the public lands.

A BLM employee or law enforcement will be in the area and signs will be posted to inform the public of the temporary closure. Additional closure days are possible the following week if needed to complete the effort.

Illegal dumping poses a threat to humans, wildlife, pets, and vehicles. Observed or suspected illegal dumping violations can be reported at (307) 261-7600. Reports to the BLM should contain as much information as possible, such as the date, location and description of the incident (when, where, what and who you saw). Details should if possible, include GPS coordinates and road names or numbers. Photos and videos can be invaluable, especially when they depict the license plate or OHV permit.

For more information about the temporary closure, please contact Tom Berdan at 307-261-7598.
