BLM to offer 22 parcels in the Wind River/Bighorn Basin District third quarter 2018 competitive oil and gas lease sale

WORLAND, Wyo. – In its ongoing effort to provide opportunities for responsible energy development, support the creation of jobs, and facilitate positive economic impacts to local communities, the Bureau of Land Management has released its initial environmental analysis for the Wind River/Bighorn Basin District third quarter 2018 competitive oil and gas lease sale. The document is available for public review and comment through Feb. 21, 2018.
The lease sale includes 22 parcels and approximately 29,627 acres of federal mineral estate within the Wind River/Bighorn Basin District. The draft environmental assessment (EA) studies the potential offering of 20 parcels totaling 28,793 acres in the Lander Field Office and 2 parcels totaling 834 acres in the Worland Field Office. No parcels were nominated in the Cody Field Office. The BLM will hold the lease sale online via www.energynet.com.
Public comments on the draft EA will be accepted through Feb. 21, 2018. Email comments to blm_wy_wrbbd_lease@blm.gov with “WY-183Q Lease Parcels” in the subject line. The public comments and information submitted regarding this project including names, email addresses and street addresses of the respondents will be available for public review and disclosure at the district office during regular business hours (7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) weekdays, except holidays.
