BOISE, Idaho – The Bureau of Land Management recently named Brent Ralston as the new manager for the Four Rivers Field Office and will host an open house for the public to meet him on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Boise District Office at 3948 Development Ave., Boise, ID, 83705.

A native to the Rogue Valley of southwestern Oregon, Brent graduated from Oregon State University with bachelor’s degrees in both Freshwater and Marine Fisheries. His work with the BLM began in Oregon as a fisheries biologist in both Salem and Prineville. From there, he worked as a planner in central Oregon for both the BLM and Forest Service. In 2006 he moved to Boise as the BLM State Planner and in 2011 became the project lead for the Idaho and Southwestern Montana Subregional Greater Sage-Grouse plan amendment and subsequent implementation. Brent has also worked several short-term management assignments in Idaho, Nevada and Washington, D.C.

“Brent brings a wealth of resource and planning experience that’s critical for managing a field office as complex as the Four Rivers,” said BLM Boise District Manager Lara Douglas. “We are very pleased to have Brent joining our team.”

The Four Rivers Field Office manages over 1.3 million surface acres stretching north and east of the Snake River, including the Boise, Weiser and Payette River watersheds. This office covers the Boise Foothills and the Morley Nelson Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area.
